Christmas Message

At this time of the year, I tend to get reflective and look back on where we have been and maybe think of where we are headed. This year seemed to go by fast and was filled with both joys and sadness; and yet it was fulfilling and rich with experiences.

Here on Star Lake we had losses – I still feel the void of the loss of our good friend Pierre DuCharme, but in his place I have a lifetime of good memories and feelings.  I also lost several good friends, but the memories remain with me and help to fill the void.

Our year on Star Lake was filled with great weather!  Even when it was hot and we experienced an absence of rain, the families still came and shared in our wonderful life here on the lake.  Our wish was that they left with great memories and our thankfulness for the gift of the great joy, happiness and our shared memories.  As we observe the birth of our Savior, we can fill our hearts with Joy over what we have and what we have shared.

Our world is filled with much sadness with wars going on and strife disrupting many lives.  But as I sit and watch the sun set over our lake, I feel peace and see hope for the future.  My thoughts become prayers for Peace on this Earth for all in this world.  And with that I send my thoughts to you and your families for a holiday season filled with peace, with many great memories, and that you join me in extending these prayers to all in this world.

Be safe…  Stay healthy…  And anticipate (as I do) another year on Star Lake.  I look forward to seeing you in the spring at our annual meeting on June 8th, at coffee on weekend mornings at The Corner Store, or on the water as we celebrate this wonderous gem we call Star Lake.
